I’ve been with Union Home Mortgage as a Loan Officer since we opened the East Lansing Office in January 2012. What a great move, I couldn’t be more excited to be in the mortgage business today and equally excited to be with a company that is always looking for ways to be better for our clients. Before joining UHM, I spent 6 years learning the mortgage business with another local lender. I am a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business. My preparation for the mortgage business came from a sales career. I was lucky enough to work for great companies with great training, including GlaxoSmithKline, Quest Diagnostics and PageNet.
I grew up in the shadow of the University of Michigan, so of course, I couldn’t wait to leave town and go to Michigan State. Our family of 6 children moved from Ypsilanti to my Great Grandparents farm in Manchester. The greatest joy in my life is my two children. Katie graduated from Central Michigan University where she cheered all four years and earned a double major in Human Resource Management and Psychology. Wes grew up playing travel hockey and is currently a junior at Michigan State University working toward a degree in Advertising. It is such a great time to buy a home, with houses priced at incredible values and interest rates set at historic lows. It is harder to obtain financing today than it was four years ago, however, and that is where I come in – this is my profession and passion. I have been helping people buy homes for nine years, and I am good at it. There is nothing more exciting to me than having the trust of a home buyer as they make this big decision. I can’t wait to help you, your friends and your family. Refinancing opportunities are equally as exciting as the purchase of a new home. Imagine living in a home that you bought eight or nine years ago and being able to cut six to seven years off the term of your mortgage note, while reducing your monthly payment at the same time. Some home owners have chosen to cut their payment by twenty or thirty percent, allowing them to add retirement savings back into their budget. I have been able to help people both reduce the term of their mortgage and their payments.
